I consider LOVE.People who live in Japan are confused since a big earthquake. The tendency not to accept the idea different from oneself is increasing.LOVE which Plato defined "Eros." Although it is a form of the love to which it has been convinced as a child, it is felt in present me who grew up only as "narcissism."Now, I think that "agape" is required for us.Coexistence with the others who are certainly different from themselves only by holding "agape (gratis love)" in the corner of the heart becomes easy.

大地震以来、日本に暮らす人々の多くは混乱していて、自分たちと違う考えを認めない傾向が高まっている。
プラトンの定義した愛のかたち「エロース」。『饗宴』を読んだ子ども時代には納得したものだけど、大人になったわたしにはただの「自己愛」としか感じられない。
いま、わたしたちに必要な愛は「アガペー（無償の愛）」だと思う。キリスト教徒ではないけれど、「アガペー」を心の片隅に抱いておくだけで、自分とは確実に違う「他者」との共存が楽になるはず。他者なくして、自己は成立しえないのだから。

Emory Douglas is one of the most and probably only famously historically noted "graphic designers" for original Black Panther Movement. His art work and designs for his time is mind-blowing. The Black Panthers are really a phenomenal piece of history and culture. Many people may not know much about The Black Panthers, and categorize them as mad black radicals when really it is quite the opposite. In short, The Black Panthers were for the rights of the people, including all people, Black, White, Asian etc... Fighting police brutality, injustice law and the common rights for the people, the Black Panthers are worth knowing about and artistically worth viewing. Emory Douglas was the prime graphic designer for the group making the posters for bulletins,newspapers and ads. He has a book called the "Black Panther: The Revolutionary Art of Emory Douglas" with all his graphic design prints and background information.
オリジナル・ブラックパンサー・ムーブメントを代表する「グラフィックデザイナー」、Emory Douglas。書店で彼のペーパーバックを手に取ったとたん、そのストレートな表現にみるみるひきこまれてしまった。それぐらい、彼のアートワークとデザインはスリリングなものばかりだ。ブラックパンサーは本当に驚異的な歴史と文化のひとつだといえる。しかし、わたしを含め、多くの人々がブラックパンサーについて、本当の意味で理解していないのではないだろうか。狂信的な黒人の過激な人権運動、そんな風にとらえている人も多いと思う。ブラックパンサーは、黒人、白人、アジア人などをすべて含む人々の権利のための運動だった。Douglasのシンプルかつ力強いアートワークは、文字が読めない人々の心をも強烈に揺さぶっただろう。
